You may be wondering about the name of this blog – “Health Habit Hero”. Who is this unnamed hero I keep referring to?

It’s you! The goal of this blog is to help YOU learn how to change YOUR life for the better – to help you become your own hero!

My name is Clarissa Cabbage, and I’m here to guide you on this journey to a happier, healthier, you. You can think of me as your coach (Yes, even superheros need coaches!).

Most people find it difficult to modify their habits. In fact, most people fail the first, or even the first several times that they try to adopt a new exercise program or diet.

The reasons for this high failure rate are many. Common pitfalls include:

  • Falling for the promise of a quick fix or trying to take short cuts to reach goals.
    • We’ve all heard these promises on TV and in infomercials:
      • “Get the body of your dreams without lifting a finger!”
      • “Eat anything you want and still lose weight!”
  • Setting unrealistic expectations and goals.
    • For example, if your goal is unrealistic – say losing 50 pounds in a month – you are setting yourself up for disappointment and failure, which will likely cause you to give up when you don’t see the results you wanted.
  • Trying to change everything all at once.
    • You may be eager to see a change quickly, but the research says that trying to change everything all at once backfires more often than not.
  • Lack of: motivation, accountability, confidence, know how, or support from loved ones.
    • Missing any of these things can make it extremely difficult to stick to a new habit.

So what can Health Habit Hero do for you?

The number one goal of HHH is to help you overcome these common pitfalls so that you can become a happier, healthier you! With HHH you will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in all of your health and fitness goals including: losing weight, enhancing nutrition, establishing an exercise routine, or just improving your overall health! HHH does not promise quick fixes, but instead focuses on teaching you how to kick those unhealthy habits and replace them with healthier ones – for good!

With HHH, you will learn how to:

  • Change your mindset to one that will allow you to be more successful
  • Set realistic goals and expectations
  • Overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of achieving your goals
  • Monitor your progress to make sure you’re staying on track
  • Hold yourself accountable
  • Improve your willpower
  • Sort out what is and isn’t true about fitness, nutrition, and health
